This blog is humbly and sincerely dedicated to all of you who have taken the time and trouble to respond to my previous ones. Before I began blogging several years ago, I had no idea what a pleasure it would be to find myself face-to-face, so to speak, with some of the viewers in the 89,000,000 homes we’re privileged to enter on Bravo in America, and in 125 countries around the world. When Mona Aho speaks to me from Helsinki, Finland, I listen – as I listen to all of you who voice your opinions on this site.

Honestly, encountering you via this blog is one of the unforeseen pleasures of the last fifteen years of Inside the Actors Studio.

And now we’re entering our Sixteenth Season, an honor of which all of us who create the show are keenly aware. Occupying an hour of the time of millions of people who have watched the show over the years isn’t just a privilege: it’s a responsibility. Our responsibility. To you.

To be precise: it’s a responsibility to bring to you the artists you’d like to sit down with in your living rooms, and to ask them the questions you would ask. That’s my mission during the two weeks of preparation for each guest: to intuit to the best of my ability not only what the artists know and think and care about, but what you know and think and, most important, care about. When, through good fortune, those two paths merge, I’ve done my job – and so has Inside the Actors Studio.

Dear James Lipton

I have a request that you would guest the cast from The Big Bang Theory on your fantastic show. Please take it into consderation as I am sure many people would also love to have them on your show.

It was quite a surprise to see Mickey Rourke on your program since he stated that he rarely watched the show at all but it was first time in a while that an actor appeared on this show rather than a "celebrity" (Jay Leno, Roseanne Barr, Conan O'Brian, etc). My gripe is that you ought to interview some of our senior actors like Kirk Douglas, Ernest Borgnine before they leave us. It would've been nice to have seen George C. Scott too before he died. But I'm grateful to have seen Paul Newman, Eli Wallach, Jack Lemmon, Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro outside of Dustin Hoffman.

I can't imagine what the reason..... Helen Mirren????
Hopefully there isn't some personal issue keeping Helen from appearing. Is there a more distinguished actress alive? Much of her professional and personal life is common knowledge, even so, millions of fans would likely pay to see your interview.

Hi James, I hope you don't mind my calling you by your first name, but I feel that I know you. I absolutely love your show and never miss it...unfortunately, it doesn't come on often enough to suit me. I am reading your book 'Inside, Inside' and was just crying over your description of the episode with Christopher Reeve...he really was, as you said 'superman'. I wanted to tell you how much I am enjoying your book and how amazed I am at all of your accomplishments...bravo to you.

Sincerely, Barbara in Arkansas

Hi, I love your show! I was wondering if Leonardo DiCaprio was going to be on the show? He is my favorite actor and I would love to see that interview. Thank you!

The questions on the cards make the show! And they have to be made from information "dug up" by you and perhaps a staff??? It's all in the preparation and you do it magnificently!! My hearty congratulations on the length of your series and the quality of it! How wonderful of your audience to appreciate your efforts and reward you by watching for so long. In this crazy business where quality is so often cancelled by mediocracy, you are a shining star!
Won-der-ful!!

This show, like Playhouse 90, Tonight Show with Jack Parr and a couple others, will be shows of record for the arts.
